Overview

The Supply Chain Intern will support key functions within the Planning, Procurement, and Warehouse Operations teams.  This role provides hands-on experience in end-to-end supply chain management, offering exposure to how materials are sourced, planned, and distributed to meet customer and production needs.  The intern will assist with data analysis, process documentation, and daily operational activities, contributing to both tactical execution and continuous improvement initiatives across the Supply Chain organization.

Responsibilities

Position Description

  • Planning & Scheduling
  • Assist in collecting, analyzing, and maintaining data to support demand and supply planning activities.
  • Help prepare and update production and inventory reports to monitor alignment with forecasted demand.
  • Collaborate with planners to identify potential shortages, delays, or excess inventory and support corrective actions.
  • Procurement
  • Support the Procurement team in issuing purchase orders, tracking deliveries, and maintaining supplier records.
  • Assist with supplier performance analysis, including on-time delivery and pricing accuracy.
  • Participate in sourcing activities such as obtaining quotes, comparing supplier options, and preparing bid summaries.
  • Warehouse Operations
  • Support inventory accuracy efforts through cycle counts, labeling, and reconciliation activities.
  • Help document and improve warehouse processes related to receiving, picking, and shipping.
  • Partner with Warehouse Leadership to identify opportunities for process efficiency and safety improvements.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Key Attributes 

  • Requires confidence in using Microsoft Word and Excel tools.
  • Requires Enthusiasm, motivation, initiative and ability to work within an interactive and energetic workplace.
  • Review process procedures, change orders, equipment specifications, validation plans, and reports.
  • Performs research on technology, equipment and tooling to improve process quality, yield or cost.  Generates proposals based on research.
  • Assistance in creating, reviewing and maintaining department files.
  • Performs experiments, analyzes and interprets numerical data from experiments.
  • Summarizes findings by computer readouts, statistical summaries, graphs and other methods.

Qualifications

Minimum Knowledge & Experience Required for the Position:

  • Currently pursuing B.S. in Supply Chain or Business with a minimum of 2 college semesters complete.
  • Ability to multitask.

The hourly wage range Werfen reasonably expects to pay for the position is $21 to $26.  Compensation is reasonably based upon multiple factors including education, relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, and specific needs of the business.
