Job Summary

 

The Manager, Field Communication & Events will play a pivotal role in the North American Commercial Operations, Marketing Team at Werfen. This individual will advise and assist in executing field-based internal communications, all while aiding in the development of formal processes, templates, channels for these messages. This individual will lead work collaboratively across functions - service, applications, and sales- to drive consistency and uniformity in our communications approach to the field. This individual will drive the planning, creation, coordination, and execution of national and regional internal and external events, that drive engagement and performance within our field sales teams and other commercial functions. As part of the Marketing organization, this role will be responsible for developing and managing effective communication strategies for the Field Team and organizing impactful events that align with business goals, enhance team performance, and foster a collaborative and winning culture.

Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and implement field communication strategies that effectively convey key messages to internal stakeholders, including field sales, service teams, and commercial leadership. This includes collaboration on the cadence, sequence, and channels (SMS, email, TEAMS calls, etc.), and cadence for planned and ad hoc messaging. This will include messaging for items such as the launch of new promotional materials or events and field actions/recalls.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., marketing, sales, service, operations) to define communciations or event objectives, target audiences, messaging, and logistics. Collaborate with senior leadership, sales teams, and marketing partners to ensure alignment and smooth communication across all commercial functions.
  • Advise, create, edit, and manage content for communication platforms such as intranet portals, email campaigns, and other digital formats.
  • Assists the Senior Manager, Field Communications & Events in leading the planning, coordination, and execution of internal and external field-based events, including sales meetings, tradeshows and conferences, training events, and more.
  • Assists the Senior Manager, Field Communications & Events in leading the planning, coordination, and execution of National Meeting.
  • Under the direction of the Senior Manager, Field Communications & Events, oversee vendor relationships, including contracts, budget management, and event logistics, ensuring successful execution of events within the defined scope and budget.
  • In collaboration with Senior Manager, develop event concepts, themes, and detailed plans, including selecting appropriate venues, arranging audiovisual equipment, and coordinating hotels, transportation, and catering services. Oversee logistical aspects of events, including scheduling, staffing, and on-site management during the event.
  • Partner with sales, service, applications, and marketing leaders to plan field communication calendar on a quarterly basis.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely execution, attention to detail, and quality delivery of communication materials and events.
  • Identify and monitor key metrics and KPis to assess the effectiveness of communica­tion efforts and event impact, adjusting strategies as necessary, and reporting out results to the Marketing Team and Commercial Operations Leadership Team.

Qualifications

Minimum Knowledge & Experience required for the position:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in communications, or marketing, with at least 2 years working in a medical device or healthcare-related industry.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience in event management.
  • Proven experience managing cross-functional projects, coordinating events, and handling internal communications.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, project management tools, and digital content creation soft­ware.
  • Familairity with negotiating contracts, managing budgets, and ensuring client satisfaction through meticulous planning and execution.

Management has the discretion of substituting relevant work experience for a degree and/or making exceptions to the requirements for years of experience.

Travel requirements:
15% - Ability to travel occasionally for on-site events, trainings, or field visits.
