Overview

Position Summary:

Manages a major Werfen Manufacturing operation. Organizes the workday for multiple Assemblers, Testers, and Technicians to achieve production goals set by Werfen Sales & Operations Planning.  Provides floor leadership for continuous improvement efforts focused on process improvement and optimization, and improved financial performance of the factory.  Coordinates with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, R&D and Process Engineering for the Design Transfer of new products into production, and validations for manufacturing equipment, fixtures, processes and procedures.

Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities

Essential Functions:

  • Provides leadership in support of all business objectives for Finished Goods fulfillment, Quality, and Cost.
  • Manages subordinate supervisors and Group Leaders.
  • Hire and develop staff to remain compliant with all applicable industry regulatory standards.
  • Conducts performance appraisals and coaching for team members and makes recommendations about salary actions, reclassifications, transfer or termination.
  • Able to resolve conflict between personnel and departments through the application of listening skills, facilitation skills and negotiating skills.
  • Able to remove oneself from the problem. 
  • Fosters a collaborative, professional climate that will maximize the contributions of all project team members.
  • Coordinates with the Materials and Warehouse departments to assure smooth continuation of production through final packaging for shipment.
  • Ensures compliance with all Company safety, health, GMP, and ISO 13485 standards.
  • Provides oversight for accurate labor records.
  • Ensures Work Orders and SAP transactions are executed properly.
  • Responsible for Continuous Improvement of production factory capabilities by reducing and eliminating Non-Value Add operations through LEAN and Green Belt projects.
  • Responsible for identifying and organizing cross-functional efforts in the resolution of product and production process issues.
  • Manages the NCR process within the factory to accurately account for material rejects.
  • Assures procedures used on the production floor are complaint to the work performed
  • Provides direct hands-on work toward the accomplishment of department goals when necessary.

Minimum Knowledge & Experience Required for the Position:

 

Education:

  • BS degree or a certificate in a related field or equivalent

Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of operations experience, including minimum 5 years of supervisory experience.
