Overview

We are seeking a Research Associate III for a laboratory position in our Research & Development group. The Research Associate III performs a variety of tasks associated with the development of new products and manufacturing processes, the investigation into and implementation of product and process changes, and the transfer of new products and processes to the manufacturing departments. Research & Development Research Associate III (Laboratory)


 

Responsibilities

As a Research Associate III, you will participate in the feasibility, optimization, verification, and validation experiments in support of assay development in the area of in-vitro diagnostics of biological targets. 

Additional responsibilities:

  • Designs and executes experiments to complete a segment of overall project.
  • With supervision, writes and reviews product documentation.
  • Presents data to internal groups.
  • Writes study protocols and reports covering several lines of experimentation
  • Carries out assigned laboratory tasks.
  • Operates complex lab equipment and performs routine maintenance/repair.
  • Assists in the establishment of procedures and research methodologies.
  • Provides recommendations and observations to scientific staff.

Qualifications

We are seeking candidates with a high level of attention to detail, an understanding of the importance of design control, and strong written and verbal communication skills.

Additional requirements:

  • The candidate should have a MS with 1 - 3 years of related industrial experience or a BA/BS with 2 - 5 years of related industrial experience within research and/or laboratory manufacturing settings.
  • Knowledge and practice of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and GLP (Good Laboratory Practices).
  • Experience with mammalian cell culture methods and procedures preferred.
  • Experience with recombinant expression of proteins in mammalian and bacterial systems preferred.
  • Experience with protein purification and characterization preferred.
  • Ability to perform laboratory assays, especially immunoassays.
  • Demonstrated ability to carry out semi-independent work.
  • Proficiency with use of Computer programs: Word processor, Spreadsheets.
  • Basic knowledge of statistics.
