Overview

Product Manager (Worldwide Marketing Acute Care Diagnostics) (Instrumentation Laboratory Company, a Werfen Company, Bedford, Massachusetts): On behalf of a worldwide developer, manufacturer, and distributor of specialized diagnostic instruments for acute care diagnostics products and services, responsible for defining and implementing market requirements for new products. Under direction of a Group Product Manager, perform product management of a dedicated product line. Prepare marketing support program for a specific Acute Care Diagnostics product. Coordinate implementation with technical services and field sales organization and provide marketing assistance to field personnel and customers.

Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Serve as key marketing interface with R&D, Operations, and Quality Assurance / Regulatory Affairs regarding the product.
  • Prepare and coordinate marketing support programs. Contribute to planning and creating advertising and promotional materials. Write technical bulletins and customer letters.
  • Provide sales and marketing technical training for local sales and marketing staff. Work with field sales and marketing staff to develop training requirements and tools required to introduce new products and sales campaigns for all or part of a product line.
  • Make presentations to customers and any external service providers including for example IT partners.
  • Work closely with the different commercial affiliates including management, marketing, sales, service, IT teams and others to ensure proper execution of the strategy and programs.
  • Understand all maintenance, performance, and advantages of Instrumentation Laboratory (IL) products. Understand technical aspects of IL and competitive products.
  • Comfortably communicate the product and the value it delivers to local affiliates and customers.
  • Lead field testing and marketing introduction and launch programs.
  • Maintain regular communications with technical services, operations, production, as well as commercial teams on problems with instruments and reagents within the product line.

 

Note: This is a product manager position reporting to a Group Product Manager reporting to a Director of Marketing. The position functions as a Marketing Specialist and does not have direct reports.

 

This is a hybrid position working 3 days per week at the office in Bedford, MA and 2 days per week from a home office within commuting distance to Bedford, MA. Position requires up to 30% of time on domestic and international travel.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:  Master’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a closely related field and 1 year of experience in a marketing, product management, sales, application, IT solutions or related occupation within the in vitro medical device sector.

 

Must also have: (I) Knowledge of in vitro medical device concepts, practices, and procedures; (II) Understanding of various roles in regulated industries and how they interact with product offerings; (III) Understanding of laboratory and clinical workflows as they pertain to diagnostics; (IV) Understanding of developing and deploying marketing strategies for medical devices across global market regions; (V) Background collaborating and working as a member of cross-functional teams from tech, design, and business; and (VI) Must have strong verbal and written communication skills with comfort in speaking with business and technical internal and external stakeholders.
