Overview:

The purpose of the internship is to provide meaningful professional hands-on experience to students with leadership potential and proven academic performance.  Werfen hires students majoring in Engineering and Life Sciences fields into this internship program based on business need.  Ideal candidates will combine technical and business knowledge with analytical strength and creative problem-solving abilities. For this specific intern position looking for students enrolled in finance and/or accounting position. 

Position Description

• The Intern will be assigned a short-term project that they will develop and present alongside the hiring manager to business partners. This project will be hands on, touch multiple departments, and allow for a condensed experience of FP&A
• Possible Projects: Financial forecasting improvements, financial package design overhaul, product line reporting, Sales KPI tracking improvements, & M&A business reporting integration.
• The Intern will also be involved in the day-to-day activities of the team, including financial forecasting, excel modeling, participation in the monthly financial package, ad-hoc financial analysis, & communication with directors on their financial metrics.

• Requires confidence in using Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint & Word.
• Requires Enthusiasm, motivation, initiative and ability to work within an interactive and energetic workplace.
• Analyze financial statements, sales reports, & service logs.
• Assist in creating & designing reports that will be utilized by business partners.
• Analysis skills for large data sets using excel to develop insights into the business.
• Assist in forecasting, modeling, & financial analysis.

Minimum Knowledge & Experience Required for the Position:

• Currently pursuing B.S. in Engineering, Finance, Business, Marketing with a minimum of 2 college semesters complete.
• Ability to multitask.
