The purpose of the internship is to provide meaningful professional hands-on experience to students with leadership potential and proven academic performance.  Werfen hires students majoring in Engineering and Life Sciences fields into this internship program based on business need.  Ideal candidates will combine technical and business knowledge with analytical strength and creative problem-solving abilities. 

Responsibilities

Position Description

  • To perform entry level work of a routine nature requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related tasks.
  • The Intern will be involved in the day-to-day activities of the team included aiding other departments as they relate to department projects. We expect the intern to gain an in-depth knowledge of the product and its associated processes, particularly the process activities in-which they will be directly involved. The intern will have opportunities to assist in nearly all aspects of the workflow.

Key Attributes 

The chosen candidate will be exposed to the following:

  • Development for Test Automation in Python.
  • Good understanding of requirement analysis and software development techniques.

The chosen candidate will also be able to further their knowledge in the following topics within Software Development and Testing:

  • Agile/Scrum Methodology
  • Software architecture and design
  • Test Automation

The candidate will be mentored by the Software Engineering Team Leader and will be considered an active team member.

Qualifications

Minimum Knowledge & Experience Required for the Position:

  • Currently pursuing B.S. in Computer Science or Engineering with a minimum of 2 college semesters complet
  • Ability to multitask.
