Overview

Position Summary:

The Facility Technician I is responsible for general repair and maintenance activities throughout the entire facility and grounds.

Responsibilities

 

Key Accountabilities

Essential Functions:

  • Perform minor electrical maintenance including replacement and repair of fixtures such as switches, outlets, bulbs, tubes, sockets, fuses, minor appliance, cords, etc.
  • Safely use appropriate hand, power, and specialty tools. 
  • Perform minor pluming maintenance such as repair of leaks, drains, faucets, clogs, trenching, draining hoses, etc. 
  • Perform minor painting, carpentry, and masonry work such as prepping surfaces, applying paint and varnish, hanging doors, replacing locks and handles, etc. 
  • Accommodate user needs and maximize office space; reconfigure, install, position, and remount modular offices and space such as furniture, wall panels, work surfaces, storage bins, lighting, cabinets, etc.). 
  • Perform janitorial services; clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, rest rooms, and other areas. 
  • Perform landscaping and grounds maintenance. 
  • Perform additional work as directed to maintain a safe, secure, controlled, efficient, comfortable operating/working environment. 
  • As necessary, provide supplemental assistance for outsourced facility maintenance matters. 
  • Notify management of facility related problems and equipment deficiencies; support corrective action activities.

Qualifications

 

Minimum Knowledge & Experience Required for the Position:

  • High School diploma or equivalent; additional technical/vocational training a plus. 
  • At least two years previous facility maintenance experience; previous experience within a manufacturing regulated environment preferred. 
  • Understanding of basic electrical, plumbing, and carpentry; understanding of compressed air, cooling water, and refrigeration a plus. 
  • Ability to safely utilize standard hand tools, and basic facility maintenance and janitorial equipment. 
  • Ability to work as part of a team. 
  • Good written and verbal communication.
