Overview

Job Summary

The Group Product Manager leads the marketing organization for Werfen's Point-of-Care (POC) Hemostasis portfolio — instruments, single-use cartridges and reagents, and connected clinical software trusted in operating rooms, cath labs, emergency departments, and intensive care units worldwide. This role sets strategy across product lines, guides and develops a small team of Product Managers responsible for those lines, and steers cross-functional execution through global launch and lifecycle.

This position will be based on-site in our San Diego location.

The annual base salary range for this role is currently $160,000 to $195,000. This is a bonus-eligible position. Individual employee compensation will ultimately depend on factors including education, relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, and particular business needs.

Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities

  • Hire, develop, and retain marketing and product management talent; set clear performance expectations, deliver feedback, and build career paths that attract and motivates top performers.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership of a small POC Hemostasis Product Management team across the assigned portfolio.
  • Set team objectives and key results (OKRs) and allocate resources across product lines to balance launch readiness, lifecycle support, and long-range innovation.
  • Own the integrated marketing strategy for the POC Hemostasis portfolio, ensuring product-line plans roll up to a coherent franchise narrative and growth agenda.
  • Lead competitive analysis, market research, and opportunity sizing across the portfolio; translate findings into positioning, pricing, and investment recommendations.
  • Develop and steward annual and long-range marketing plans, including market analysis, growth initiatives, and portfolio trade-offs.
  • Direct structured Voice of Customer (VOC) programs across hospital clinical workflows — OR, cath lab, emergency department, and ICU — and translate insights into product requirements, evidence needs, and roadmap input.
  • Stay informed on developments across hemostasis, viscoelastic testing, in-vitro diagnostics, and adjacent critical-care domains, and apply that perspective to future-state plans.
  • Drive cross-functional governance and alignment with R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Clinical Affairs, and Commercial Operations on on-market analyzers, assays, connected software, and pipeline programs.
  • Oversee global launch readiness across the team, including go-to-market strategy, commercial frameworks, sales enablement, and post-launch tracking.
  • Own key performance indicators for the portfolio, including revenue, market share, launch performance, and lifecycle health; report regularly to senior leadership on results and forward-looking risks.
  • Represent POC Hemostasis marketing to executive leadership and to the broader Werfen organization, including Affiliates, Distributors, and key customers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Networking/Key relationships

  • POC Hemostasis leadership; R&D, Regulatory, Quality, Clinical Affairs, Manufacturing, Commercial Operations, Medical Affairs, Finance, Human Resources; global Affiliates and regional commercial leaders.
