We are seeking a visionary Director, Worldwide Marketing – Autoimmunity to lead the global strategy for one of the most dynamic areas in diagnostics. As a strategic leader, you will guide the global marketing and product management vision for our entire Autoimmunity portfolio working at the intersection of science, commercial strategy, and innovation. You’ll partner with world-class teams across R&D, clinical, regulatory, and commercial functions while leading a high-performance marketing team around the globe. The role is responsible for defining and support implementation of the worldwide marketing strategy and plans for the entire Autoimmunity portfolio. This includes developing short, medium, and long-term marketing strategies, defining objectives, policies, and programs for global marketing activities. The position involves planning, directing, and coordinating marketing efforts to achieve company goals and providing advice to the Vice President of Worldwide Marketing and Service on marketing matters.

Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities

    • Directs global marketing and product management strategy for the Autoimmunity business unit to drive market growth, portfolio competitiveness, and alignment with Werfen’s overall strategic objectives
      • Directs global marketing and product management strategy for the Autoimmunity business unit to drive market growth, portfolio competitiveness, and alignment with Werfen’s overall strategic objectives. 
      • Directs operations of the Global Autoimmunity Marketing and Product Management teams to ensure development and execution of effective commercial strategies, product positioning, and global marketing programs. 
      • Leads the development and management of the Autoimmunity product portfolio across the full product lifecycle, including market assessment, product concept development, launch strategy, commercialization, and lifecycle optimization. 
      • Collaborates with R&D, Clinical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, and Operations to support development and successful commercialization of innovative IVD solutions aligned with market needs and regulatory requirements, including IVDR. 
      • Supports global affiliate marketing and commercial teams by ensuring availability of effective marketing tools, product training, and strategic guidance that maximize market adoption, product utilization, and customer value. 
      • Directs global product launch planning and execution to ensure consistent messaging, effective market introduction, and successful adoption across all regions. 
      • Continually evaluates market trends, competitive dynamics, emerging technologies, and customer needs within the IVD and autoimmune diagnostics markets to identify opportunities for innovation and portfolio expansion. 
      • Ensures teams develop, manage, and report key marketing and business performance metrics, including revenue growth, market share, product adoption, and return on investment for marketing initiatives. 
      • Establishes strong collaboration with global affiliates, commercial teams, and cross-functional partners to align marketing strategies with regional needs and maximize commercial effectiveness. 
      • Engages with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), scientific experts, and industry stakeholders to support market insight generation, product validation, and thought leadership within the autoimmune diagnostics field. 
      • Provides strategic recommendations to senior leadership regarding market opportunities, portfolio strategy, product development priorities, and long-term growth initiatives within the Autoimmunity business. 
      • Continually assesses marketing processes, tools, and organizational capabilities and implements improvements to enhance effectiveness, efficiency, and global collaboration.

      • Salary Range:
      • Salary ranges depending on experience, education, etc $210K-$250K plus bonus opportunity

  • Affiliate Marketing Teams: Align global strategy with regional execution and ensure local market success. 
  • Product Management & R&D Teams: Partner to drive product development, lifecycle strategy, and market adoption. 
  • Regulatory & Clinical Affairs: Ensure product strategies align with regulatory requirements including IVDR and global compliance standards. 
  • PMO (Project Management Office): Collaborate on cross-functional programs and strategic initiatives. 
  • Cross-Functional Project Teams (Workflow, Digital, Innovation): Integrate global initiatives across disciplines. 
  • Global Service Support (GSS), MTS, and PCG Teams: Collaborate on complex customer and technical challenges. 
  • Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and External Experts: Engage for strategic insight, product validation, and market leadership. 
  • Senior Leadership: Align on global strategy, business performance, and long-term portfolio direction. 
  • Other Strategic Business Units: Coordinate on cross-business opportunities and portfolio synergies. 

 

Skills & Capabilities:

 

  • Ability to define, communicate, and execute global marketing and product strategies aligned with business objectives and market opportunities. 
  • Deep knowledge of the IVD industry, autoimmune diagnostics markets, and global regulatory frameworks including IVDR. 
  • Product Development & Lifecycle Management 
  • Strong expertise in product development strategy, lifecycle management, and commercialization of diagnostic solutions. 
  • Proven ability to build, inspire, and lead high-performing global teams, including talent development and leadership succession. 
  • Expertise in market analysis, competitive intelligence, segmentation, and VOC-driven strategy development. 
  • Demonstrated success leading complex cross-functional initiatives across global organizations. 
  • Communication & Influence Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence senior leaders, external stakeholders, and global teams. 
  • Strong understanding of P&L management, investment prioritization, ROI analysis, and strategic resource allocation. 
  • Ability to analyze scientific data, clinical publications, financial performance, and market dynamics to inform strategy. 
  • Ability to foster innovation, continuous improvement, and organizational adaptability in a rapidly evolving diagnostics market. 
  • Experience building strong relationships with internal leadership, global affiliates, KOLs, and industry partners. 

Travel Requirements:

  • Up to 40% of the time, including international travel.

Qualifications

Min Knowledge & Experience required for the position:

  • Master’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Life Sciences, or a related scientific discipline required. MBA or advanced scientific degree preferred. 
  • 10+ years of experience in the In Vitro Diagnostics (IVD) or regulated medical device industry. Ideally, previous significant exposure to autoimmune diagnostics or related disease areas. 
  • Proven global marketing leadership experience, including management of high-performing teams and complex international organizations. 
  • Demonstrated success in strategic marketing, product portfolio management, and commercialization in global markets. 
  • Experience leading product development initiatives and managing full product life-cycle processes, from concept and development through launch and life-cycle management. 
  • Strong understanding of IVD regulatory environments including IVDR and other global regulatory frameworks. 
  • Track record of driving cross-functional collaboration across R&D, regulatory, clinical, operations, and commercial teams. 
  • Experience working with Key Opinion Leaders and scientific communities within the autoimmune diagnostics space.
